Organized by local association BigUp Santé, the event will connect students and career changers with professionals from over a dozen medical specialties. The forum, to be held at the Domaine des Loges, will offer attendees direct interaction with healthcare workers and interactive challenges designed to inspire the next generation of medical professionals.
A first-of-its-kind health careers forum will take place on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the Domaine des Loges in Parthenay, France. The event, organized by BigUp Santé, an association representing 110 healthcare professionals in the Gâtine region, aims to inspire the next generation of medical workers and showcase the rewarding aspects of a career in healthcare.
Long-Term Vision for Healthcare Workforce
The forum will feature representatives from a diverse range of healthcare specialties, including general practitioners, physical therapists, nurses, opticians, podiatrists, dietitians, occupational therapists, midwives, and nursing assistants. Approximately fifteen professionals from the Gâtine area will be on hand to connect with potential candidates. This event comes as many regions face healthcare worker shortages, making recruitment and retention efforts increasingly important.
Organizers are targeting college students, high school students, and individuals considering a career change, offering them the opportunity to learn about various healthcare professions through direct interaction and informational materials. “We are aiming for the long term,” explained Isabelle Varlet, president of BigUp Santé, emphasizing the hope that attendees will eventually establish their careers within the region.
To add a unique and engaging element to the event, “Professor Bigueupe,” portrayed by François Ducaroy of Créalchimie, will provide interactive games and challenges throughout the morning.
