Santiago’s Metropolitan Zoo has reopened to the public with free admission, offering a new recreational and educational option for residents and visitors of the capital city.
The zoo, part of the larger Metropolitan Park, is aiming to boost attendance and reconnect people with the area’s biodiversity, while maintaining visitor safety through controlled access. The move underscores the park’s commitment to providing accessible green spaces within the city.
Daily Capacity Limited to 4,000 Visitors
To manage crowds, daily access is limited to a maximum of 4,000 people. Visitors are strongly encouraged to make a reservation in advance through the zoo’s official website, particularly to avoid lines or delays at the Pío Nono entrance.
How to Obtain a Free Ticket
Free tickets can be obtained by visiting the Metropolitan Zoo website, completing a form with personal details for all attendees, selecting a visit date, and completing the captcha before clicking “Obtain your ticket.” A code will then be issued and must be presented at the ticket booths upon arrival.
The same process is available on-site with assistance from authorized staff.
Hours and Restrictions
Reservations are accepted from Tuesday through Sunday, between 10:00 a.m. And 6:00 p.m. The zoo is closed on Mondays for maintenance.
Visitors are reminded that pets and motorized vehicles are not permitted within the park, in accordance with existing regulations.
