Runners are counting down the hours until the 41st edition of the Zurich Marathon of Seville, which will see more than 17,000 participants – both elite athletes and amateur runners – line up on Sunday on Avenida de María Luisa. This marks a historic high for the iconic Seville race, which continues to grow in popularity and has unveiled a renewed course designed for optimal speed and comfort.
With less than 48 hours until race day, the energy is building in the Andalusian capital. This morning, Seville’s Mayor José Luis Sanz welcomed several of the professional athletes expected to contend for the win in both the men’s and women’s divisions. Earlier, at 10:00 a.m., the Expo Maratón opened its doors for the ninth year at the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos (Fibes). The Expo serves as the central hub for the Zurich Marathon of Seville, offering free access to race-related activities and a mandatory stop for participants to collect their bibs and race packs. It will remain open from 10:00 a.m. To 8:00 p.m. On Saturday.
Pasta Party
The Expo will likewise host a pasta party on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. To 4:30 p.m. In Pavilion 3, alongside photography exhibits, official merchandise sales, expert talks, and exclusive promotions from sponsors. Tomorrow at 11:00 a.m., a panel discussion titled ‘41 Years of the Seville Marathon’ will feature legendary Spanish marathoner Abel Antón, serving as the race’s honorary starter alongside Martín Fiz.
It’s also worth noting that both the ‘5k Breakfast Run‘ (9:30 a.m. On Avenida Rodríguez de Casso) and children’s races for kids up to 14 years old will take place on Saturday in Parque de María Luisa.
