The legal battle between “It Ends With Us” stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni is continuing, with mediation efforts reportedly falling apart, according to Variety. A trial now appears likely for the pair.

The actors met at the courthouse in Latest York earlier this month, on February 11, for a full day of negotiations, but were unable to reach an agreement. Following the proceedings, Justin Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, confirmed to reporters outside the courthouse that no settlement had been reached.

“It does. We look forward to it.”

A trial is currently scheduled for May.

Allegations of Sexual Harassment

In December 2024, Blake Lively filed a lawsuit against director and co-star Justin Baldoni, alleging sexual harassment during the making of “It Ends With Us.”

Lively’s lawsuit alleges that Baldoni’s behavior caused her “severe emotional distress,” and seeks to prevent Baldoni from showing her explicit images or videos, discussing sexual conquests in her presence, and adding any further sex scenes beyond those approved in the script.

Counterclaims and Allegations of Smear Campaign

Baldoni has consistently denied the allegations, and in January 2025 filed a countersuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, for defamation and extortion. Baldoni claimed Lively attempted to leverage her friendship with Taylor Swift to pressure him into granting her more creative control over “It Ends With Us.”
