Guastalla – Investment firm Attestor has acquired a majority stake in Padana Tubi & Profilati Acciaio, Italy’s leading manufacturer of welded pipes and steel profiles. The deal marks a significant shift for the company, a key industrial player in the Reggio Emilia province, and aims to bolster its future development.

Founded in 1970 in Guastalla, Padana Tubi has experienced consistent growth, establishing a strong industrial base and a leading commercial presence across Europe. The company, which employs approximately 800 people, reported revenues of around €900 million (approximately $1.03 billion USD) in its last fiscal year. This transaction underscores the continued interest in strategic European industrial assets.

According to a company statement, the Alfieri family, who founded Padana Tubi and guided its expansion for over 55 years, will retain a significant minority stake and continue to play a central role in the company’s governance and strategic direction. “For our family, this decision represents an critical moment, as well as a strong emotional impact, which commits us to carrying out an orderly transition, in the name of continuity,” said Claudia Alfieri, CEO of the company. “With Attestor, we have chosen a long-term partner who respects the identity of Padana Tubi and supports us in strengthening governance and management, to support a new phase of growth, remaining faithful to our roots and to the territory.”

Attestor, a specialist in partnerships with industrial companies, intends to provide Padana Tubi with institutional capital to support its long-term growth ambitions. David Alhadeff, Head of Special Opportunity Strategies at Attestor, added, “Padana Tubi is an excellence rooted in the territory, but with international leadership. It is a solid industrial group in a strategic sector for Europe. We want to thank the Alfieri Family for choosing us as the majority partner and intend to build a new phase of growth together with them, enhancing the path taken so far.”

The investment is expected to be completed in the coming months and signals a new chapter for Padana Tubi, one of the most important production realities in the Emilia-Romagna region, known for its excellent profitability relative to the industry average.
