Former Prince Andrew Faces Scrutiny as Police Investigate Epstein Ties

London – Former Prince Andrew is at the center of a growing controversy as authorities continue to investigate his connections to the late Jeffrey Epstein. The latest development involves a search of his former home in Windsor following his arrest on Thursday, February 19, 2026, on suspicion of misconduct in public office, according to reports.

Police are now asking Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s protection officers to approach forward with any information relevant to the Epstein files. This comes amid suggestions that some former protection officers may have overlooked certain activities, particularly those occurring on Epstein’s island. The Metropolitan Police stated they are “identifying and contacting” both current and former officers, requesting they “consider carefully” anything they may have witnessed or heard during their service.

The arrest, which occurred on the Sandringham Estate, has sparked widespread media attention. Andrew was later released under investigation, and maintains he has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing. The Thames Valley Police are currently determining whether to bring charges against the former prince.

The situation is further complicated by the release of over three million documents related to Epstein, prompting nine police forces across the UK to consider launching investigations. Whereas the Metropolitan Police has not identified any wrongdoing by protection officers at this stage, they are actively seeking information.

“The Met is identifying and contacting former and serving officers who may have worked closely, in a protection capacity, with Andrew Mountbatten‑Windsor,” a statement from the force read. “They have been asked to consider carefully whether anything they saw or heard during that period of service may be relevant to our ongoing reviews and to share any information that could assist us.”

The unfolding situation adds another layer to the ongoing saga surrounding Prince Andrew and his association with Epstein, a case that has dominated headlines for years and presented a significant challenge to the British monarchy. The arrest marks the latest turn in a yearslong crisis for the royal family.

A photograph recently released as part of the Epstein document release appears to show Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor kneeling over an unknown female. Details of the case continue to emerge as investigations proceed.

Meanwhile, Democrats in the United States are hoping the arrest will spur action across the Atlantic. They believe it’s time to end a perceived cover-up, according to reports.

The former prince’s life has undergone a dramatic transformation, evolving from a celebrated war hero to a controversial figure within Buckingham Palace.
