FC Basel has released a limited-edition jersey designed in collaboration with local street artist BustArt, just in time for the city’s annual Fasnacht carnival celebrations. The shirt, which captures the “chaos, rhythm and energy of Fasnacht,” according to the club, was available for purchase at Sunday’s match against FC Lugano.
Fans who missed the game-day opportunity can still purchase the jersey on the FC Basel website starting Monday. The design features intricate details, including depictions of piccolos and soccer gloves.
In addition to the jersey, FC Basel is offering a limited-edition Fasnacht box. The box, personally designed by the artist, includes an exclusive player jersey with a name, number, sponsor logos, and league badge, as well as a unique Fasnacht patch not available for individual purchase. The club notes that purchasers cannot select a specific player, and a match-worn jersey is not guaranteed.
The Fasnacht box is available for pre-order and will be shipped in time for the carnival celebrations. This isn’t the first time FC Basel has released a special edition Fasnacht shirt, and previous versions have seen their value increase on resale markets. A jersey featuring Shaqiri’s number from the 2024/2025 season is currently listed for 240 Swiss Francs on Ricardo.ch.
