Kathy Contreras: Reveals She’s Sinaka’s Stepmother | Dance Fever Chile

Ahead of her debut on the second season of ‘Fiebre de Baile’, Kathy Contreras revealed a surprising family connection: she is the stepmother of rising urban singer Sinaka.

The artist, who has gained popularity with his “ancient school” style reggaeton, has found success on social media with tracks like “Aló” and “Bellakona,” which have become popular trends on TikTok.

That success recently led to a red-carpet appearance at the Viña Festival gala, where he even performed his song alongside Katteyes for the press.

The relationship with the former ‘Yingo’ personality was previously unknown. As Contreras shared, Matías Muñoz – Sinaka’s real name – is the son of her husband, Erich Muñoz.

Contreras and the photographer married last year, but have a long-standing relationship, having welcomed their daughter, Selva, four years ago.

Describing her stepson, Kathy Contreras said: “Sinaka has really surprised me. My husband is his father, and we’ve always been observers since he decided to pursue a career as an artist and, as far as I know, he’s already released several albums. He’s been at it for about five years, he’s super persevering.”

“Erich, my husband, is very skilled in audiovisual production, creating incredible videos, but his son has never asked for his help, always being very self-sufficient. I was drawn to his music since he’s reviving old-school reggaeton, so those of us in our thirties are very grateful to have those songs back that we danced to in high school,” she added.

Contreras jokingly suggested she might ask the urban singer to appear in a music video titled “The Stepmother.” She also gave a nod to the young artist during her premiere on ‘Fiebre de Baile’, dancing to his hit song “Aló.”

The revelation adds another layer of intrigue to Contreras’ return to television, as she navigates the challenges of the competition and the spotlight. The artist’s growing popularity highlights the continued evolution of the Chilean urban music scene.
