Ian Huntley, convicted of the 2002 murders of two young girls in the United Kingdom, has died in hospital following a violent attack by another inmate, according to reports from Sky News.

Ian Huntley, who murdered two 10-year-old girls in 2002, died in hospital after being assaulted although incarcerated, multiple British media outlets including Sky News have reported.

The 52-year-old was found seriously injured on February 26th at Frankland prison, a high-security facility in Durham County. Police stated he was attacked with a metal bar by another prisoner. A man in his 40s is currently under investigation in connection with the incident.
