Rappers Bigflo and Oli found themselves unexpectedly grounded in Dubai last week following disruptions caused by the conflict in Iran. The duo were simply making a layover in Dubai although returning from a trip to Nepal when they became stranded for four days.
The unexpected delay forced Bigflo and Oli to postpone promotional appearances for their novel album, “Karma,” which was released on March 13. They addressed their fans on Instagram, sharing details of the situation. “Rien de très grave. On entend juste des bruits de missiles. On sent qu’on est en sécurité quand même, mais ça fait bizarre, quoi,” Oli said in a video posted to social media. He continued, “Ça nous met dans la merde. On avait des promos, des trucs comme ça. On est en train de décaler des promos et des trucs pour l’album. On est à dix jours de la sortie et on est dans la merde.”
The incident highlights the ripple effects of international events on the entertainment industry, impacting album release schedules and promotional tours. According to reports, the rappers were originally in Nepal filming a music video for the track “Karma.” Bigflo explained that they had been waiting to share the news until they had more information. While acknowledging the unsettling situation, Oli reassured fans that they felt safe despite hearing occasional missile sounds. The duo expressed frustration over the disruption to their album promotion, noting they were forced to reschedule appearances, including a planned spot on the show “Popcorn.” The release of “Karma” marks the fifth studio album for the popular French rap duo, known for their energetic performances and socially conscious lyrics. The unexpected travel complications underscore the challenges artists face navigating a volatile global landscape while trying to connect with their audience.
