Bloober Team Brings Survival Horror ‘Cronos: The Recent Dawn’ to Apple Silicon Macs
Bloober Team has announced that its award-winning survival horror title, the macOS version of the game, will officially launch on April 28, 2026. The port is designed to run natively on Macs equipped with Apple silicon, marking a significant expansion for the studio’s latest horror IP.
To ensure high-end performance and visual fidelity, the game will integrate key Apple technologies, including ray tracing and MetalFX Upscaling. According to Apple hardware enthusiasts, the native support for MetalFX Upscaling is specifically tied to the launch of macOS 26 Tahoe. This transition to native silicon support highlights Apple’s broader strategic push to position the Mac as a serious destination for high-performance gaming, mirroring the successful day-one launch of other major titles like Crimson Desert.
Atmospheric Horror and Time-Bending Gameplay
In Cronos: The New Dawn, players are thrust into the brutal wastelands of a future apocalypse. The gameplay focuses on surviving encounters with nightmarish merging creatures and utilizing time-travel mechanics to jump back in time and harvest souls, all although uncovering the catalyst of humanity’s downfall. This move to Mac allows the studio to bring its signature atmospheric tension to a new audience.

Recognizing different player preferences, Bloober Team confirmed on April 9, 2026, that the recently introduced Temporal Diver Mode—an “Easy Mode”—will be available at launch on Mac. This ensures that players can experience the story across any of the three available difficulty settings.
Launch Details and Platform Availability
The upcoming Mac launch will be accompanied by special introductory pricing. The Standard edition will be available with a 30% launch discount, while the Deluxe edition will see a 35% price reduction.
While this marks the game’s debut on macOS, Cronos: The New Dawn is already available on several other platforms. Since its initial release in September 2025, the title has been playable on Windows, Linux, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, and the Nintendo Switch 2. As Bloober Team’s official announcement suggests, the studio is continuing to expand the game’s reach, ensuring the experience is optimized for the latest hardware ecosystems. Through these updates, the developers are celebrating the title’s success by bringing it to new systems.
