Police in Bærum, Norway, have arrested a woman in her 20s following a serious violent incident in Sandvika that left a man in his 60s with critical injuries.

The incident occurred Tuesday evening just before 10 p.m., when officers responded to reports of an assault in a residential area of Sandvika. Upon arrival, emergency personnel found the male victim suffering injuries consistent with the use of a sharp object. Life-saving measures were administered on scene before he was transported to a hospital, where he remains in serious condition.

According to Oslo Police District operations chief Gabriel Langfeldt, the suspect—a woman in her 20s—was taken into custody without incident. Police confirmed there is a relationship between the victim and the suspect, though they have not disclosed the nature of that connection pending further investigation.

Authorities emphasized that the incident appears to be isolated and poses no ongoing threat to the public. Multiple patrol units were deployed to the area following the initial report to secure the scene and gather evidence.

The case remains under active investigation, with officials stating they will provide additional details about the relationship between the individuals involved as the inquiry progresses.
