Nobel laureate physicist Ferenc Krausz condemned a recent Telex article as baseless and defamatory, announcing plans to pursue legal action. Krausz, a Nobel Prize-winning physicist, reacted strongly to claims made by Hegyi Péter in a Telex piece concerning the Élvonal Csúcskutatási és Tehetséggondozó Alapítvány, a research and talent development foundation he leads. He dismissed the allegations as “fake news” and “groundless slander,” stating that legal steps are being taken in response. According to Krausz, the foundation has not transferred a single forint from funds designated for talent development, and he denied having terminated any negotiations with Hegyi Péter’s organization, the National Talent Academy. Instead, he asserted that the academy had broken off talks. He emphasized that in science, the only valid measure is measurable performance, which he said he refuses to compromise. Krausz also criticized the idea that the National Talent Academy would spend 208 million forints from its event budget on fireworks at the Pick Aréna, arguing that such funds should travel to teachers. The foundation held a nearly three-hour background briefing for media representatives on Friday afternoon to address the Telex article, which Index.hu also covered. Krausz attended alongside curatorium president Madaras Markó, CEO Kiss Gábor István, and communications director Gábor István Kiss.
