Dr. Khalid Al-Nemer, a cardiology consultant and professor of heart diseases and arterial catheterization, stated that the vast majority (90%) of left arm pain is not related to heart problems.

He made the comment via his account on the X platform, adding that concern arises when the pain is accompanied by chest discomfort that may radiate to the jaw, along with sweating, shortness of breath and nausea—particularly in individuals with risk factors such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, or smoking.

In a separate post, Dr. Al-Nemer emphasized that physical inactivity poses a greater threat to heart health than weight gain alone, and that the combination of both significantly increases risk compared to either factor independently. He noted that positive changes in either area can yield rapid benefits for cardiovascular health.
