Student Collaboration Drives Development of Space-Based IVF Laboratory
A unique partnership is pushing the boundaries of reproductive medicine and aerospace engineering with the ambitious goal of establishing an IVF laboratory in space.
The initiative is a joint effort between the Eindhoven-based student team Aster in Space and the company SpaceBorn United. This collaboration brings together academic innovation and specialized biomedical goals to explore the possibilities of fertilization beyond Earth’s atmosphere. As part of this innovative project, Eser Sazli, a student at Fontys, is actively contributing to the development of the laboratory.
The project highlights the growing role of student-led engineering in advancing complex biomedical goals in extreme environments, signaling a trend where academic talent is increasingly integrated into high-stakes aerospace startups.
