LG Expands Display Portfolio with New Smart and Ultrawide Monitors
LG Electronics is set to refresh its monitor lineup starting in mid-May 2026, introducing a series of displays designed to blur the line between professional productivity and home entertainment. The upcoming releases include the versatility of the LG Smart Monitor series and high-performance ultrawide options.

A centerpiece of the update is the new Smart Monitor range, which integrates webOS to provide a seamless experience for both work and personal use. LG is launching a total of three models in this category, including the 31.5-inch 4K resolution “32U721SB-W”. By embedding a smart operating system directly into the hardware, LG is positioning these displays as hybrid hubs that can function independently of a PC for streaming and apps, while remaining robust tools for professional tasks.
For users requiring expanded screen real estate, the company is introducing the 34-inch curved ultrawide monitor “34U601B-B”. This model features a 21:9 aspect ratio and UWQHD resolution, providing a wider field of view for multitasking. To ensure smooth visual performance, the 120Hz-capable display is expected to reach consumers with an actual selling price of approximately 50,000 yen. These curved ultrawide units will be released sequentially from mid-May 2026.
Beyond LG’s offerings, the display market continues to see a push toward high color accuracy for creative professionals. JAPANNEXT has announced the “JN-i27U2”, a 27-inch 4K LCD display. This model is tailored for precision work, supporting 100% sRGB and 92% DCI-P3 color gamuts.
The simultaneous launch of smart-integrated displays and high-refresh ultrawides highlights a growing trend in the digital economy: the demand for hardware that can pivot instantly between high-intensity professional workflows and immersive home entertainment.
