Hot Boy Turk Files Lawsuit After Removal From Cash Money Reunion Tour

Rapper Turk, a member of Cash Money’s Hot Boys, has filed a lawsuit alleging he was improperly removed from the group’s 30th anniversary tour after disputes over payment and contract fulfillment.

According to the suit, Turk completed several shows with the reunited Hot Boys until promoters Dope Shows Inc. and Artists By Artists Agency LLC informed him they lacked the funds to meet the terms of his contract. Turk claims he was subsequently dismissed from the tour when he refused a reduced payment offer, despite a contractual guarantee of full compensation regardless of revenue. He asserts the promoters failed to follow proper breach-of-contract procedures, specifically a required five-day written notice period and opportunity to remedy the situation.

“The shows weren’t exactly sold out, but the agents still breached the agreement multiple times,” Turk stated. Despite the setback, Turk is scheduled to rejoin the Hot Boys at Lil Wayne’s Lil Weezyana Fest in November, and fellow group member Juvenile has expressed enthusiasm for the performance. This dispute highlights the often-complex financial arrangements within legacy music groups and tours.

Turk also expressed disappointment that no other Cash Money members reached out to him during the dispute, and noted the group has not recorded new music together since B.G.’s release from prison in 2023, nor has he received support for his recent solo album, “Joseph.” The situation raises questions about the current state of unity within the influential hip-hop collective, which helped define the sound of Southern rap in the late 1990s and early 2000s – a period explored in detail by AllMusic. Representatives for Dope Shows Inc. and Artists By Artists Agency LLC have not yet responded to requests for comment.
