Lazio threatened early, forcing Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan into a crucial save just two minutes into the game, denying Mario Gila’s header.

The Roman side continued to press, with Mattia Zaccagni testing Maignan again in the 32nd minute. Milan, however, struggled to create clear chances in the first half, failing to register a single shot on target before the break.
The deadlock was broken just six minutes into the second half when Leao found the back of the net. The Portuguese forward latched onto a cross from Fikayo Tomori and expertly slotted the ball past Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel.
