As the population ages, maintaining independence at home is a growing concern for seniors and their families. To address this, three organizations in the Fribourg region are collaborating to offer resources and support for aging in place.
The Fribourg Cantonal Hospital, Pro Senectute, and the Sarine Health Network will host a series of “health cafes” designed to provide a welcoming space for seniors to discuss the challenges and opportunities of remaining in their homes as they age. These cafes will be led by healthcare professionals.
The initiative aims to offer information and a platform for exchange, recognizing that aging in place isn’t always straightforward, particularly with rising healthcare costs. The collaborative effort underscores the increasing need for community-based support systems for an aging population.
