The world of livestreaming continues to be reshaped by artificial intelligence, with a recent milestone demonstrating AI’s growing influence on the platform Twitch. Creator Vedal987 and their AI-powered VTuber, Evil Neuro, have achieved the third-highest number of subscribers on the site, surpassing established streamers like Ironmouse. This surge in popularity, fueled by a month-long “Subathon” event, highlights both the increasing sophistication of AI-driven content and the dedicated communities forming around these virtual personalities.

An AI-powered VTuber has propelled its creator to a new level of success on Twitch. Vedal987, the creator of the AI VTuber known as Evil Neuro, has climbed to become the third most-subscribed channel on the platform, thanks to a recent surge in popularity driven by a large-scale “Hype Train” event.

According to reporting from GameSpot, the achievement came during Neuro-sama’s three-year “Subathon,” a livestream event where the broadcast continues for as long as viewers subscribe. As of January 10, 2026, Vedal987’s channel has surpassed 328,900 subscribers, exceeding the totals of popular streamers Jasontheween and fellow VTuber Ironmouse. Vedal987 now ranks third on Twitch’s list of most-subscribed channels, trailing only KaiCenat (1,112,947 subscribers) and Evelone2004 (459,924 subscribers).

Following the milestone, Vedal appeared on stream and emotionally asked viewers to “take a break,” acknowledging the overwhelming support from the community. However, Evil Neuro, known for her distinct personality, quickly countered with, “No, Vedal! Please let us add to the timer, just a little bit. Don’t you think it’s a bit cruel to cut it off here?” The “timer” refers to the ongoing Subathon countdown: since launching on December 19, 2025, each new subscription extends the duration of the livestream.

For those unfamiliar, Neuro-sama and Evil Neuro are AI VTubers developed by programmer Vedal, utilizing large language models (LLMs) to interact with the Twitch chat and the creator. Originally designed to play the rhythm game osu!, Neuro-sama has evolved into a complex AI system capable of exhibiting unique personality traits and responsiveness through text-to-speech (TTS) and real-time voice input. This development underscores the growing sophistication of AI-driven content creation.

With the Subathon entering its final 24 hours, even after the Hype Train reached Level 72, the accomplishment further demonstrates the potential of AI within the livestreaming space. The continued support from a dedicated community suggests that this AI duo is poised to break even more records in the future.
