Egyptian star Akram Hosny has revealed the reason for his absence from the upcoming Ramadan drama season, slated to begin this month, stating the decision came from a place of conviction despite feeling saddened by the prospect of not participating.

Hosny shared in a televised interview that he is disappointed to be sitting out this Ramadan, explaining, “I’m sad that I won’t be participating in Ramadan, but what’s comforting me is that I didn’t uncover an idea or script that was different from what I’ve presented before.”

He added that he doesn’t wish to appear simply for the sake of having his name attached to a project. “I won’t be present just for the sake of being present; it’s better that I reorganize my ideas and prepare function that is worthy of the following year, and God willing, I will be present in the next Ramadan,” Hosny said.

The actor also noted that his current focus on cinema contributed to his decision to step back from Ramadan series, emphasizing that film work requires a significant amount of concentration. This dedication to his current cinematic projects prompted him to devote his energy accordingly.
