Rising maintenance costs and increasing recall rates have become a growing concern for car owners in recent years. Now, a surprising development has emerged: an Italian sedan has been named the most reliable vehicle on the market.

Alfa Romeo Giulia Recognized as Most Reliable Sedan

In a recent survey conducted for the 2025 model year, British publication What Car named the Alfa Romeo Giulia as the most reliable sedan currently available, a result that has surprised industry observers. The Giulia, produced at the Cassino plant on the Giorgio platform and slated for a future redesign, achieved a score of 98.2%, exceeding expectations for a brand that has historically faced questions regarding long-term dependability. This recognition could be a significant boost for Alfa Romeo as it seeks to strengthen its position in the competitive global automotive market.

The study, based on feedback from over 32,000 vehicle owners, is considered highly significant. Only 9% of Giulia owners reported any issues, and these were largely minor problems resolved quickly without substantial expense.

The BMW 3 Series took second place with a score of 98%, while the Mercedes-Benz C-Class lagged behind at 76%. Owners of the C-Class reported a range of issues, resulting in a lower score compared to previous generations. Engineers at Mercedes-Benz will need to address these concerns.
