Responding to questions during a press conference Thursday regarding Gîrbea’s appointment to the ministry he leads, Minister Dragoș Pîslaru stated, “I received Ms. Alina Gîrbea this morning, after the appointment order came into effect. I am confident that we will have a professional working relationship. It is not my role to conduct investigations into any aspects of her personal life,” according to Agerpres.
“I assure you that institutionally, Ms. Gîrbea meets all the conditions, given her CV and professional capacity, to brilliantly represent the portfolio of a dignitary, as Secretary of State in the Ministry of Investments and European Projects,” Pîslaru said at the briefing following the Government meeting.
“Ms. Alina Gîrbea’s CV is impeccable. Professionally, she has the skills and experience necessary to carry out this mandate. Beyond that, any interpretation regarding Ms. Gîrbea’s personal life is not my concern as head of the institution, the Ministry of Investments and European Projects. Those are very clear things… From a professional perspective, I can tell you that she has the necessary competence for the mandate. Beyond that, I believe there are speculations and I ask you not to involve me in relations related to USR, because I do not currently, and have not for a long time, have any connection with USR,” Pîslaru added.
Alina Roxana Gîrbea (USR) has been named Secretary of State at the Ministry of Investments and European Projects (MIPE). The decision, signed by Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, was published Wednesday in the Official Monitor. A USR member since 2020, Gîrbea is a co-founder of the Women in Politics project.
