The All in Duo test aims to provide individuals with a rapid and convenient screening option as healthcare systems brace for increased wintertime demand. The test, certified under new European medical device regulations, is now available for purchase in pharmacies at a recommended price of €7.99.
As winter respiratory viruses circulate widely, and with the influenza A (H3N2) strain currently dominant this season, AAZ has released All in Duo, a combined at-home test for both flu and COVID-19. This new diagnostic tool expands testing options available at pharmacies, complementing existing tests from companies like Biosynex and Abm Pharma, and offering individuals a convenient way to quickly assess their health status.
The All in Duo test is certified under the new European regulations for in vitro diagnostic medical devices (IVDR) and meets the criteria set by the French National Authority for Health. It provides a simple way to screen for respiratory viruses using a nasal swab, all from the comfort of home. The test is designed for use with both children and adults.

All in Duo detects influenza A and B viruses, including the currently circulating H3N2 strain, as well as COVID-19, using a nasal sample. The test can be performed by adults on individuals aged one month and older, and children aged six and up can self-administer the test under adult supervision.
Mechanism of Action
The test is a double-flow lateral immunoassay that uses monoclonal antibodies to detect specific target antigens for each virus in a nasal sample. It’s a qualitative, non-automated test with an overall reliability of 98.9%.
Mode of Use
- Remove the autotest from its sealed pouch immediately before use and blow your nose before taking the sample.
- Place the autotest on a flat surface and remove it from its holder with the integrated swab cradle by pulling upwards. Remove and discard the protective cap.
- Gently insert the autotest into the nostril (1 to 2 cm), then rotate it several times for 15 seconds against the inner wall of the nostril. Repeat in the other nostril.
- Immediately insert the autotest, swab end facing down, into the holder placed on the table. Firmly press the autotest to pierce the swab cradle and insert it all the way to the bottom. Verify that a pink line appears within one minute. If no line appears, press firmly again.
- Note the time and wait 15 minutes before reading the result. Do not read after 20 minutes.
Reading the Results
For each indication:
- The presence of a single colored band on each strip indicates a negative result.
- The presence of at least two colored bands on a strip indicates a positive result.
