A public dispute over finances has emerged between Peruvian singer Álvaro Rod and influencer Samantha Batallanos, stemming from a disagreement over the cost of shampoo. Batallanos alleges Rod became visibly upset over a $500 price tag, while Rod has since presented a receipt as evidence he did, in fact, purchase the item. The back-and-forth has quickly become a topic of discussion within Peruvian entertainment media.
Samantha Batallanos has revealed that her ex-boyfriend, Álvaro Rod, reportedly became upset when he couldn’t afford to buy her a specific shampoo. The influencer claims he broke down in tears over the $500 price tag.
The Peruvian influencer shared that the singer started crying when she asked him to purchase the shampoo.
“I asked him why he was crying, and then I realized he didn’t feel financially secure enough to be with me, which must have been difficult for him. He has a lot of insecurities, I don’t know,” Batallanos stated.
According to Batallanos, she doesn’t need a partner to shower her with gifts, but she does appreciate being spoiled. “I think he needs to mature as a man,” she added, responding to the receipt Rod showed to the press.

Álvaro Rod Shares Proof Against Samantha
Álvaro Rod recently defended himself against accusations made by Samantha Batallanos, claiming he did purchase the $500 shampoo and even presenting a receipt as proof.
“Look, that shampoo wasn’t $150, it was almost $500. Here’s the receipt where I bought it, and I did buy it, of course. The second time she asked me to buy it, I didn’t, because we were already breaking up,” Rod said regarding Batallanos.
Álvaro Rod doesn’t rule out finding invoices to prove he purchased more than just a $500 shampoo.
