Good news for América, as the international break allowed several players to recover from injury. Isaias Violante was the last to return to full fitness, following Raúl Zúñiga and Henry Martín, who were available for the friendly against LA Galaxy.
National team players reported back to their clubs last Thursday, including Luis Ángel Malagón, Israel Reyes, Kevin Álvarez, Erick Sánchez, and Alexis Gutiérrez from Mexico, as well as Sebastián Cáceres, Brian Rodríguez, and Rodrigo Aguirre from Uruguay.
Goalkeeper Luis Ángel Malagón had previously been dealing with an ankle inflammation, but started in Mexico’s 1-2 defeat against Paraguay on Tuesday, indicating he is fit to start in the Liguilla.
