These updates include the approval of candidate lists stemming from previous employment offers and the opening of applications for key leadership roles, signaling a continued investment in public sector staffing. The announcements,impacting several provinces including Malaga,Jaén,and Seville,span a range of professions – from specialized technicians to hospital leadership – and reflect a broad effort to maintain and improve public services for the region’s over 8.4 million residents.

Andalusian Health Service Announces Staffing Updates, Open Positions

The Andalusian Health Service and several regional government departments in Spain have recently announced a series of personnel updates, including the approval of candidate lists for various positions and the opening of applications for leadership roles. These announcements reflect ongoing efforts to bolster staffing across public services in the Andalusia region.

Health Service Positions

On January 28, 2026, the General Directorate of Personnel of the Andalusian Health Service approved the list of candidates who passed the opposition phase of the selection process for Barber/Stylist positions, as part of public employment offers for 2022, 2023, and 2024.

A similar announcement on January 29, 2026, confirmed the successful candidates in the opposition phase for Cook positions, also stemming from the 2022-2024 public employment offers. Both announcements signal progress in filling critical support roles within the healthcare system.

Several leadership positions are also open for applications. On January 29, 2026, the Andalusian Health Service announced a call for applications, using a merit-based competition system, for the position of Director of the Campanillas Clinical Management Unit in the Malaga Primary Care Health District.

Further openings were announced on the same day for a Nursing Care Coordinator at the Intercenter Urgent Care Clinical Management Unit in the Malaga Primary Care Health District, and for a Director of the Martos Clinical Management Unit in the Jaén Sur Primary Care Health District. These roles are also being filled through a merit-based competition.

Additionally, on January 29, 2026, the Health Service approved candidate lists for the following positions: Technical Specialist in Building and Industrial Facilities Maintenance, Senior Accommodation Technician, and Brickwork Maintenance Technician – all stemming from the 2022-2024 public employment offers.

Another announcement on January 29, 2026, detailed a call for applications, again using a merit-based competition, for a provisional Director position at the Las Cabezas de San Juan Clinical Management Unit in the South Seville Health Area.

The Audit Office of Andalusia announced on January 26, 2026, selective tests, through internal promotion, for entry into the Senior Body (IT). A separate announcement was made on the same day for a public call for applications to fill a vacant position through direct designation.

University Openings

The University of Almería announced on January 30, 2026, public competitions for the hiring of scientific/technical research personnel, funded by research grants (January 2026 call).
