Apple is potentially delaying the launch of its thinnest iPhone model until 2027 as the company navigates challenges in equipping and positioning the device, according to recent reports.
Apple is currently evaluating the future of its thinnest iPhone, with the timeline for release remaining uncertain. While rumors suggest an “iPhone Air 2” with improved cameras and new display technology, the launch could range from a fall debut to a postponement until spring 2027.
Shifting Strategy: When Will the Next Air Model Arrive?
Traditionally, Apple unveils new iPhones in September. Releasing an iPhone Air 2 one year after its predecessor would align with that pattern, but the company’s strategy appears to be evolving. Several analysts are reporting a split release cycle for 2026.
Under this scenario, only the flagship iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, along with a potential foldable phone, could be released this fall.
