The latest reports suggest Johny Srouji, Senior Vice President of Hardware Technologies and architect of Apple’s lauded silicon chips, is seriously considering leaving the company. Apple is facing a potential wave of executive departures, with a new report indicating that Johny Srouji, Senior Vice President of Hardware Technologies, is considering leaving the tech giant.
According to a Bloomberg report, Srouji has informed Apple CEO Tim Cook of his serious consideration to resign in the near future.
The report specifies that Srouji is not planning to retire, but rather to pursue opportunities with another company. However, Bloomberg’s sources did not disclose whether Srouji has already accepted a new position.

Apple is reportedly attempting to retain Srouji with a substantial compensation package and expanded responsibilities. The company is also weighing a promotion to Chief Technology Officer, which would make him the second-highest ranking executive at Apple.
However, such a move would likely require promoting John Ternus, SVP of Hardware Engineering, to CEO. Srouji has reportedly indicated a preference against reporting to a new CEO, even with a new title, as reported by 9to5Mac on December 7, 2025.
Srouji joined Apple in 2008 and played a key role in developing the company’s first internal system-on-a-chip and subsequently led the transition to Apple Silicon. This transition has been central to Apple’s recent product performance and competitive advantage.
Should Srouji depart, he would be the latest senior executive to leave the iPhone maker. Jeff Williams, Apple’s COO, announced his resignation in July.
Earlier this month, Apple announced that John Giannandrea, SVP for Machine Learning and AI Strategy, will retire in Spring 2026. Just two days later, Bloomberg reported that Alan Dye, Apple’s head of design, is moving to Meta.
Apple has also announced the departures of General Counsel Kate Adams and VP for Environmental, Policy, and Social Initiatives Lisa Jackson, both slated for early 2026.
Rumors have also circulated regarding Tim Cook’s potential departure as CEO early next year, though Bloomberg has characterized those reports as premature.
