Foldable hinges endure far more mechanical stress than a standard phone, and titanium can maintain alignment under repeated circumstances. Prominent industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also previously noted that Apple will use titanium and stainless steel for the hinge components, while keeping the rest of the chassis lighter.
