Live television mishaps are commonplace in Argentine television, and the frustrations of running out of time aren’t always limited to the hosts. Recent incidents have shown how invited guests can become upset when show schedules run short, creating tension that extends beyond the studio walls. A recent example occurred on Puro Show, when Rochi Igarzábal arrived for an interview only to be cut off due to time constraints.
The actress responded with visible frustration, asking the show’s hosts, “Are you kidding me?” despite host Pampito assuring her live on air that she had arrived late. The incident highlights the pressures of live television and the delicate balance between scheduled programming and spontaneous conversation.
A similar situation reportedly unfolded on Con Carmen, the program hosted by Carmen Barbieri on El Nueve, this time involving her stepdaughter Julieta Bal . According to journalist Laura Ubfal on LAM, Julieta had been invited as a panelist to discuss constellations and spirituality. The production team provided a seat for her, but when the show returned from a commercial break, “there was no time” for her to speak.
This unexpected turn led to considerable upset: “Apparently, Julieta became nervous and agitated. She began shouting and walked through the halls of the channel saying, ‘This represents how they do things. “We’re out of time, come another day,” they told me.’”
The journalist reported that the issue wasn’t directed at Carmen Barbieri, who has been her stepmother for many years, but at the show’s production team for poor time management. Whereas unconfirmed, speculation suggests Carmen may have called Julieta to try and calm her down.
These situations underscore the tensions that can arise between guests and production when live show timings aren’t met. The existing family relationship between the host and guest, Carmen Barbieri and Julieta Bal, adds another layer to the story, generating significant media interest beyond the immediate on-set conflict.
As of now, there have been no official statements from any of the parties involved, and the incident remains one of the most tense moments on El Nueve this year.
