The asteroid will pass at a speed of 20,000 miles per hour, at a safe distance from Earth, but scientists are continuing to observe it for any potential changes to its trajectory caused by gravitational forces. Precise tracking of these objects is crucial for long-term planetary defense.

NASA emphasized that while these close approaches are routine, they serve as a reminder of the importance of continuous monitoring projects like the Center for Near Earth Object Studies (CNEOS), which collects data from observatories worldwide to map the precise paths of these objects.
