German automaker Audi reported a global sales decline of 2.9% in 2025, delivering 1,623,551 vehicles despite a year marked by significant new model launches. The results reflect ongoing challenges for premium automakers navigating shifting consumer preferences and economic headwinds in key markets. However, the company points to a surge in electric vehicle demand-up 36%-as a sign of recovery, notably as competition intensifies in the worldS largest automotive market, China.

Audi delivered 1,623,551 vehicles to customers in 2025, a decrease of 2.9 percent compared to the previous year, the company announced.

The year presented challenges for the Volkswagen-owned luxury automaker, despite what the company described as one of its most extensive product launches in its history. While global deliveries declined by nearly 3 percent to 1.62 million vehicles, recent trends suggest a potential turning point for the brand.

Beginning in the fall of 2025, Audi’s monthly deliveries consistently surpassed those of the prior year, accompanied by a significant surge in order volumes, particularly in Western Europe. A key driver of this growth was the increasing demand for electric vehicles, with deliveries jumping approximately 36 percent to a new record. The launches of the Q6 e-tron (around 84,000 units) and A6 e-tron (roughly 36,000 units) were major contributors to this positive trend.

The European market showed relative strength, with Audi reporting growth in Germany and stable performance across the rest of the region, alongside the rapid expansion of electric vehicle sales. However, sales volumes decreased in North America, and competitive pressures in China also led to a decline, although Audi maintained a strong position in its largest single-country market and is preparing a new model offensive. This highlights the increasingly competitive landscape in the world’s largest automotive market.

Despite the lower overall sales figures for 2025, Audi expressed optimism, citing “light at the end of the tunnel,” particularly in the realm of electromobility, which the company views as central to its future growth prospects.
