The UEFA Nations League provides a pathway to Euro qualification and offers competitive international matches for European national teams. This challenging group will test Austria’s mettle as they aim to climb the ranks and secure a favorable position in future tournaments.

The Republic of Ireland is as well preparing for a competitive Nations League campaign, facing Austria, Israel, and Kosovo, as reported by RTÉ. The games against Israel are expected to be particularly sensitive, given the current political climate. The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) previously proposed a motion to UEFA to suspend Israel from competitions but has confirmed it will fulfill the upcoming fixtures.
