Disappointing Bunny made history at Super Bowl LX with a groundbreaking halftime performance – the first entirely in Spanish. The Puerto Rican superstar took the stage at Levi’s Stadium around 10:23 PM Chile time, delivering a show that celebrated his heritage and cemented his status as a global pop icon. This performance arrives on the heels of a monumental week for the artist, who recently became the first Latin artist to win Album of the Year at the Grammys with a Spanish-language album.

The stage was transformed to resemble the hills of Puerto Rico, reminiscent of his successful residency in his home country, as Bad Bunny launched into his hit Tití me preguntó from Un verano sin ti. The show incorporated elements from his current Debí tirar más fotos tour, including a recreation of “the little house” – a signature set piece from his live shows – where he was joined by a star-studded lineup of guests.

Among those appearing in “the little house” were Chilean actor Pedro Pascal, Young Milko, and Jessica Alba. The performance even included a live wedding ceremony. He then moved through a medley of his biggest hits, including Yo perreo sola and VOY A LLeVARTE PA PR. “If I’m here at Super Bowl LX today, it’s because I never stopped believing in myself,” Benito declared to the crowd.

A surprise moment came with the appearance of Lady Gaga, who delivered a salsa-infused rendition of her hit Die with a smile, channeling a singer from a 1950s Havana nightclub. Bad Bunny continued with a rapid-fire setlist including BAILE INoLVIDABLE and NUEVAYoL, maintaining the energetic pace.

Latin music icon Ricky Martin also took the stage, a nod to his pivotal role in bringing Latin music to a wider U.S. Audience. He performed Lo que le pasó a Hawái, one of Bad Bunny’s more politically charged songs, offering a different dimension to the artist’s image. Martin had previously appeared as a guest at “the little house” during Bad Bunny’s Puerto Rico residency. The segment continued with performances of El apagón before concluding with DtMF, complete with pyrotechnics and a roaring crowd. “Puerto Rico, we are still here,” Bad Bunny stated.

As the performance drew to a close, a football appeared on the screen, emblazoned with the phrase “Together we are America.” A universal message, fitting for a historic performance and a week celebrating unity.

Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl appearance follows a rescheduling of his previously planned shows in Chile. As detailed by Culto, the announcement in October triggered a complex coordination effort between the Bizarro production company, the IND, and the National Stadium Park to reschedule the dates.

Green Day Kicks Off Pre-Game Festivities

Before Bad Bunny’s performance, Green Day energized the crowd with a pre-game show. The NFL announced the invitation for Billie Joe Armstrong, Tré Cool, and Mike Dirnt on January 17th, promising a performance of “their most emblematic rock anthems,” according to a prior announcement.

Taking the stage around 8:00 PM Chile time, Green Day opened with Good Riddance, followed by a powerful pairing of Holiday and Boulevard of Broken dreams, both hits from the 2000s.

They closed their brief set with the hit American Idiot, handing the stage over to the pre-game ceremony. “Welcome to the Bay! It’s Super Bowl LX!” Billie Joe Armstrong shouted to the audience. Prior to their performance, the band played a show on February 6th in San Francisco at The FanDuel Party Powered by Spotify, where Armstrong criticized the Trump administration and ICE agents.

“To all the ICE agents out there, wherever you are, quit your shitty job. Quit the shitty job you have. Because when this is over—and it will be over eventually—Kristi Noem, Stephen Miller, JD Vance, Donald Trump, they’re gonna throw you away like a fucking habit. Receive on this side of the line!” he said.
