Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show Celebrates Latino Culture

Bad Bunny delivered a high-energy, culturally rich performance at the Apple Music Super Bowl LX halftime show on February 9, 2026, marking a historic moment as the first halftime show to be performed primarily in Spanish. The performance, which took place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, during the game between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots, quickly became a trending topic on social media.

The Puerto Rican superstar opened with his hit song “Tití Me Preguntó,” sporting a white outfit inspired by American football and carrying a football under his arm. He continued the set with “Yo Perreo Sola,” a track celebrated for its message of empowerment. The show quickly moved beyond a typical halftime performance, becoming a vibrant celebration of Latino identity and music. Watch the full performance here.

A central element of the stage design was a recreation of a traditional Puerto Rican “casita,” a recurring feature in Bad Bunny’s concerts, symbolizing a collective celebration. The performance featured surprise appearances from Lady Gaga, Karol G, and Ricky Martin, blending reggaeton, salsa, Caribbean rhythms, and international pop. This collaboration underscored the breadth and influence of Latin music on the global stage.

Bad Bunny paid tribute to his homeland with visuals representing Puerto Rico’s social reality while performing “El Apagón,” holding the Puerto Rican flag. References to Puerto Rican bomba music and the endangered sapo concho frog were also included, highlighting the diversity of the Latino community. CBS News reported that Bad Bunny performed hits from his recently Grammy-winning album, “Debí Tirar Más Fotos.”

The halftime show also included appearances from athletes Emiliano Vargas and Xander Zayas, boxers, and Atlanta Braves right fielder Ronald Acuña Jr., as well as celebrities Pedro Pascal, Cardi B, and Jessica Alba. Lady Gaga joined Bad Bunny onstage to perform “Die With a Smile” with a Latin twist and their collaboration, “BAILE INoLVIDABLE.”

Ahead of the performance, Bad Bunny encouraged fans to enjoy the show regardless of their Spanish language skills. “People only have to worry about dance,” he said. “They don’t even have to learn Spanish. It’s better if they learn to dance. There’s no better dance than the one that can come from the heart… that’s the only thing they need to worry about, to have fun and enjoy, and of course, choose your team at the game.” ESPN covered the enthusiastic reaction on social media.

The performance is being hailed as a landmark moment for Latino representation in mainstream American entertainment, solidifying Bad Bunny’s position as a global music icon. La Presse noted the show’s emphasis on love and celebration.
