Match Highlights: Barcelona vs. Mallorca

Barcelona started brightly, fielding an attacking lineup featuring Marcus Rashford, Robert Lewandowski, and Lamine Yamal. Despite their early pressure, the hosts struggled to break the deadlock.

Mallorca nearly took the lead in the 17th minute when Vedad Muriqi narrowly missed connecting with a cross at the far post.

Six minutes earlier, Joan Garcia was forced into a save to deny Jan Virgili.

Virgili again threatened Barcelona’s goal in the 21st minute, bursting past Jules Kounde and firing a powerful shot that Garcia managed to tip over the bar.

Barcelona’s first real chance arrived in the 26th minute, with Rashford cutting inside from the left wing, but his right-footed shot sailed wide of the target.

The breakthrough finally came in the 29th minute through Lewandowski. After Rashford’s initial shot was blocked, the Polish striker pounced on the rebound to make it 1-0.

Barcelona almost doubled their advantage in the 36th minute, but Pau Cubarsi’s header from a corner went just wide. They continued to press in added time, with Rashford’s free kick saved by Leo Roman, leading to a scramble in the box. The ball eventually fell to Yamal, whose attempt also missed the mark.

Barcelona continued to dominate after the break, with Marc Casado hitting the post in the 54th minute.

Yamal extended Barcelona’s lead to 2-0 in the 61st minute. Finding space in front of the box, the young Spaniard unleashed a powerful shot into the bottom right corner.
