Organ Virtuosos Benjamin Dupré and Christophe Bouhier Enchant Audience in Vic-Fezensac

Vic-Fezensac recently played host to a masterclass in classical music as organists Benjamin Dupré and Christophe Bouhier delivered a stunning performance at St. Peter’s Church on Sunday, April 26. The event, which showcased a sophisticated blend of technical skill and artistry, underscores the enduring appeal of classical organ repertoire in intimate community settings.

The afternoon featured a diverse program that spanned from the works of Couperin to Bach, performed with a level of finesse and sensitivity that captivated the crowd. Dupré, the titular organist of St. Peter’s Church, joined forces with Bouhier, a professor at the music school of the community of communes of the Lomagne, to create an immersive sonic experience. The intensity of the organ’s vibrations resonated throughout the venue, earning the duo repeated applause from the attendees.

Following the performance, Michelle Larrey, president of the Association of Friends of the Organs of St. Peter’s Church, expressed her gratitude to the musicians “for their brilliant performance and for making this exceptional musical moment possible.”

For those who missed the event, more musical excellence is on the horizon. The church will host another concert at St. Peter’s Church in Vic-Fezensac with Benjamin Dupré and Christophe Bouhier, though the upcoming date features a new collaboration. On Sunday, August 16, at 4 PM, Christophe Bouhier will return to the organ, performing alongside trumpet professor Valentin Montebello, who has taken over the pedagogical leadership of the Vic-Fezensac music school.
