New Skyss App Launches Today
Skyss is launching a new app today that combines the functionality of the Skyss Reise, Skyss Billett, and Skyss Bestilling apps into a single platform.
“Users will be able to plan their journeys and purchase tickets in one place,” Skyss press contact Ingrid Dreyer said in a statement. The app is built on the same platform as Ruter’s app.
The new app is simply named “Skyss.”
The update will be rolled out gradually, and not all users will receive it at the same time.
“All users with the old Skyss Reise app on their phones will automatically receive the new app through an update. Due to technical reasons, not everyone will receive the update simultaneously, but the new app will be sent to all users within a two-week period,” Dreyer explained.
“iPhone users do not need to wait for the automatic update, but can download the new app from the App Store starting March 9, 2026.”
Two Older Apps to Be Phased Out
According to Dreyer, the Skyss Billett app will continue to function for a period of time.
“It is not technically possible to transfer tickets from the old app to the new app, so anyone with a valid ticket in Skyss Billett must keep the old app until the ticket expires.”
This likewise applies to the Skyss Bestilling app.
“Skyss Bestilling is used in areas where Skyss offers on-demand bus service, including the Åsane/Tertnes area. The booking function is integrated into the new Skyss app, but both apps will work during a transition period before the old app is phased out.”
The new app will include features such as displaying stops with departure times on a map and the ability to subscribe to period tickets.
“The app will be continuously further developed,” Dreyer added.
Gray Start to the Week
The Bergen area is expected to have a gray day on Monday, March 9, 2026, with some rain and drizzle, according to meteorologist Merete Øiestad at
“The cloud cover appears to be low early in the morning before lifting somewhat, and will lower again on the mountains in the evening. There is a risk of fog, so be aware of that if you are planning a hike,” Øiestad warned.
Temperatures will be similar to recent days, ranging from 5 to 7 degrees Celsius.
“The wind will come from the south and may be strong in exposed areas.”
