Toronto Blue Jays fans demonstrated remarkable enthusiasm for the 2026 season, selling out the home opener against the Oakland Athletics in just fifteen minutes Thursday morning. The swift sellout underscores the continued high demand following the team’s successful 2025 campaign, as they prepare to celebrate their 50th anniversary with a season-long series of events. While the March 27th game is already sold out, opportunities to catch the team remain, including a series against the World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers in April.
Toronto Blue Jays fans wasted no time snapping up tickets for the 2026 season, with the home opener selling out in a mere fifteen minutes after going on sale Thursday morning.
The general public sale began at 10:00 a.m., and by 10:15 a.m., all tickets for the March 27 matchup against the Oakland Athletics were gone. Thousands of fans waited in the digital queue, eager to secure their spot at Rogers Centre for the highly anticipated game.
The cheapest tickets available for the home opener were listed at $147, demonstrating the strong demand to witness the start of the Blue Jays’ 50th season. The team is coming off a historic 2025 run and fans are eager to see what this season holds.
Celebrating Five Decades of Blue Jays Baseball
Fans attending the March 27th game will be treated to a special pregame ceremony honoring Toronto’s memorable 2025 season. The Blue Jays will also sport a commemorative 50th season patch on their uniforms, a throwback to the team’s original logo from the 1970s.
“On April 7, 1977, on a snow-covered field at Exhibition Stadium, the Toronto Blue Jays made their MLB debut. Five decades later, the Blue Jays return to Rogers Centre in March as reigning American League Champions and get set to host a season-long celebration honouring the club’s 50th season,” the team said in a previously issued news release.
Throughout the 2026 season, Rogers Centre will feature additions celebrating the franchise’s history, and fans will have access to exclusive merchandise featuring both classic and current logos. Numerous promotional events and giveaways are also planned to commemorate the Blue Jays’ 50th anniversary and their recent American League Championship.
While the home opener is sold out, tickets remain available for the March 28th game against the Athletics, with seats in the 500 Level currently priced around $65 after taxes and fees.
Season ticket holders and members of the Blue Jays District Drops promotion received access to a presale on Wednesday.
Looking ahead, a three-game series against the World Series Champion Los Angeles Dodgers from April 6-8 is also drawing significant interest. Tickets for the series opener are still available, with 500 Level seats going for approximately $95.
Other key matchups include a visit from the Boston Red Sox from April 27-29 and a series against the New York Yankees from June 12-14. The cheapest tickets for those games are currently selling for around $48 and $66, respectively.
Fans will also be eager to see former Blue Jay Bo Bichette return to Toronto as a member of the New York Mets from June 29-30 and on Canada Day, July 1. Tickets for the July 1st game are nearly sold out, with remaining seats priced around $95.
