Canadian Secretary of State (Sport) Adam van Koeverden will be in Mexico City and Monterrey from December 14th to 17th to bolster collaboration with key partners as preparations intensify for the 2026 FIFA World Cupâ„¢. He is scheduled to deliver remarks on Monday at the Canadian Embassy in Mexico.
During the visit, the Secretary of State will participate in a series of meetings with officials responsible for organizing the 2026 FIFA World Cup™ and representatives from the Mexican government, including Gabriela Cuevas, the Federal Government’s representative for the tournament. Discussions will center on tournament readiness, including coordination of safety and security measures, fan transportation, and ongoing cooperative efforts.
