German automaker Capricorn, in collaboration with legendary design house Zagato, has unveiled a unique sports car aimed at offering a distinctly analog driving experience. The new vehicle represents a departure from the increasingly complex world of modern supercars, seeking to recapture the spirit of 1960s grand tourers. Rather than competing in a horsepower race with brands like Bugatti or Koenigsegg, Capricorn prioritizes raw driving feel and mechanical precision – a philosophy reminiscent of sports cars produced by Gordon Murray.

The design embodies Zagato’s signature styling cues, updated for a modern aesthetic. Key features include a distinctive double-bubble roof, an elongated hood, and a striking, streamlined rear end. Built on a monocoque chassis, the Capricorn boasts a lightweight of just 1,200 kg (approximately 2,646 lbs).

Powering the Capricorn is a 900-horsepower 5.2-liter V8 engine sourced from Ford, the same block found in the Mustang GTD and the F-150 Raptor R. However, the transmission is a particularly noteworthy feature. From the outset, the design team ruled out an automatic gearbox, opting instead for a classic five-speed manual transmission. This is a rarity in the modern supercar segment, with Lamborghini being one of the last manufacturers to offer a five-speed option.

Exclusivity is assured, with production limited to just 19 units of the Capricorn 01 Zagato, immediately positioning the model as a collector’s item. The $3.5 million price tag reflects the car’s unique nature, offering buyers not just a vehicle, but a handcrafted work of art.
