Portuguese content creator Catarina Gouveia has shared a personal health update regarding her husband, Pedro melo, after he was hospitalized last week following a sudden illness. Melo initially experienced tingling sensations that rapidly progressed, leading to concerns of a stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA). The couple’s experience has resonated with fans, prompting an outpouring of support as they await further evaluation and potential treatment for a recently discovered congenital condition.
Lisbon, Portugal – Portuguese content creator Catarina Gouveia recently shared a health scare involving her husband, Pedro Melo, revealing he’d been hospitalized for four days. The news prompted an outpouring of support from fans and colleagues.
Gouveia detailed the situation, explaining that Melo woke up last Friday with a tingling sensation in his left arm. “He told me he thought he’d slept on it wrong and it was probably just that,” she shared. Despite the initial discomfort, Melo attended meetings in the Alentejo region that morning. However, the tingling later spread to his left leg and face after lunch, prompting a return to Lisbon and a hospital visit that same afternoon.
“He ended up staying in the hospital due to suspicion of a stroke or TIA – which is often considered a warning or ‘beginning’ of a stroke,” Gouveia continued. She described the following days as filled with “exam after exam, many inconclusive ones, but always with tireless professionals trying to determine the cause of the episode.”
After five days of testing, doctors identified a congenital issue, and thankfully, ruled out the most serious potential diagnoses. “The doctors are now evaluating and will decide, along with Pedro, whether or not to intervene,” she stated.
Gouveia expressed gratitude for “all the calls and messages” received after she initially shared the news. “The three of us are together and doing well. And I’m going to continue to take very good care of my handsome man,” she added. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Always take care of yourselves and your health.”
In a subsequent update, Gouveia happily announced that Pedro Melo had been discharged from the hospital and was back home. “Finally, we’ve been discharged and are certain that things will get better in the coming weeks,” she wrote. “We’re back to our home, but more importantly, we’re together, the three of us, and that’s the real home – being well and together. There’s absolutely nothing more important than that, because where there’s health, there’s strength to overcome adversity.”
Gouveia also shared a touching photo of her three-year-old daughter, Esperança, visiting her father in the hospital. “In the last few days, we spent as much time as possible together, the three of us. And Esperança always saw her dad in good spirits.”
