The rapper confirmed the news during a livestream with PlaqueBoyMax, openly revealing he has embraced Islam and chosen a new name: Akil (or Akhil).
Central Cee’s announcement came naturally during the conversation.
When PlaqueBoyMax jokingly suggested he Google the rapper’s birth name, Central Cee explained he’d already chosen a new name after his conversion.
“I’ve changed my name. I took Shahada and I’m Muslim now. That’s my name,” Central Cee said casually.
