Bodo/Glimt Stuns Inter Milan in Champions League Playoff

Bodø/Glimt pulled off a major upset Wednesday, defeating Inter Milan 3-1 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League playoff. The Norwegian side’s victory adds another surprising chapter to their Champions League run, whereas Inter Milan, the Serie A leaders, face an uphill battle to advance.

Sondre Brunstad Fet opened the scoring for Bodø/Glimt in the 20th minute, giving the home side an early lead. Inter Milan quickly responded with a goal from Francesco Pio Esposito in the 30th minute, leveling the score.

The second half saw a flurry of action, with Bodø/Glimt taking control. Jens Hauge put the Norwegian team ahead in the 61st minute, and Kasper Waarst Høgh extended their lead just three minutes later, making it 3-1.

Inter struggled to break down a resolute Bodø/Glimt defense, despite having 57.6% of the possession and eight shot attempts. The match, played at Aspmyra Stadion in front of 7,845 fans, was a freezing affair, potentially contributing to Inter’s struggles.
