Quebecois singer Charlotte Cardin was named Female Artist of the Year at the 41st Victoires de la Musique awards Friday night, a recognition of her rapid success with the French public since her hit song “Feel Good.” Rapper and singer Disiz took home the award for Male Artist of the Year.
“For a Quebecer who recently moved to Paris, I couldn’t have dreamed of a better welcome from the French,” Cardin said upon receiving the evening’s first award. The 31-year-old artist has captivated audiences with her song, performed in both English and French, which was the most-played track on French radio in 2025.
Rapper and singer Disiz was honored as Male Artist of the Year, an award that recognizes his resurgence in 2025 with a recent album and the duet “melodrama” with Theodora.
“If I’m here today, it’s since I went to therapy: it allowed me to attempt to live with the pain that was done to me and the pain that I did,” said the 47-year-old artist, whose career has had its ups and downs. For him, the award represents “a symbol, another milestone that breaks down preconceptions about success.”
The Triumph of Theodora
Barely making a splash on the music scene, Theodora swept the Victoires de la Musique awards Friday night, also recognizing Charlotte Cardin and the comeback of Disiz, spanning rap and song. The Franco-Congolese artist Theodora took home four awards at the 41st Victoires de la Musique.
The “Boss Lady,” who was a favorite, won awards for Best Audiovisual Creation for “Fashion Designa” (14 million views on YouTube), Female Revelation, Stage Revelation, and Best Album with “Mega BBL.”
“I especially want to thank all the projects that came before me and that allowed my project to be better understood,” said the 22-year-old star, referencing artists like Aya Nakamura and rapper Tiakola, who have enjoyed significant success over the past year.

Pop in Different Flavors
Reflecting the trends that marked the past year, the awards showcase pop music in various forms, from ballads for Helena and her “Mauvais garçon” (original song submitted for public vote), to rock for Sam Sauvage (Male Revelation), and electro for Justice, the French touch duo awarded Best Concert. The awards ceremony underscores the diverse and evolving landscape of French pop music.
“I just have a huge thought for my family (…) My niece was born this morning, I knew this day would be beautiful!” exclaimed Helena, the Belgian singer revealed by Star Academy. “I think of all the people who have dreams too. I had one. Today, it will be forever realized,” said Sam Sauvage, elated as he releases his first album, “Mesdames, Messieurs!”
Broadcast on France 2, France.tv and France Inter, the ceremony was hosted by Cyril Féraud and Helena Noguerra, with Mika as the guest of honor.
