Citroen has expanded its presence in the burgeoning Indian automotive market with the launch of the C3 Live (0) hatchback. Aimed at budget-conscious consumers, the new model joins CitroenS lineup as part of the Stellantis group’s broader strategy to capture a larger share of India’s car market, which is projected to reach 5 million annual sales by 2027. The C3 Live (0) follows the automaker’s earlier introduction of the Aircross X Max Turbo, indicating a phased approach to adapting to Indian consumer preferences.

Citroen has launched the C3 Live (0) hatchback for consumers in India, offering a combination of affordability and fuel efficiency. The new model is positioned as one of the most accessible vehicles in the Indian market, a key growth area for the European automaker.

While Citroen did not explicitly detail the C3 Live (0)’s engine specifications at launch, the vehicle is expected to utilize the same powertrain as the previously released standard C3 model. This strategic move allows Citroen to leverage existing production and engineering resources.

The C3 Live (0) is powered by a 1.199cc, three-cylinder Puretech 110 engine, producing 110 PS and 205 Nm of torque. Citroen claims a fuel economy of 18.3 km/liter. This focus on fuel efficiency is particularly relevant in the price-sensitive Indian automotive market.

The vehicle features a 30-liter fuel tank, allowing for an estimated range of approximately 540 kilometers on a full tank. It’s important to note that this range is an approximation and will vary based on driving conditions.

In India, the Citroen C3 Live (0) is priced starting at 5.4 lakh rupees, which is roughly equivalent to $99,000 USD. Pre-bookings for the vehicle are currently being accepted.

“By transitioning to a pre-booking mechanism for specific variants, we can align capacity with real demand, sharpen our portfolio, and deliver greater value to customers,” said Kumar Priyesh, Head of Business and Director of Stellantis India, according to reports on January 24th.

“The Aircross X Max Turbo and C3 Live (O) are the first results of this approach, with ongoing actions planned. This is just the beginning as we remain responsive to demand signals,” he added.

The C3 Live (0) is a mid-range trim level within the C3 family in India. The vehicle is currently available in a single color option: Perla Nera Black.

Citroen highlights ten key features of the C3 Live (0), including a 10.1-inch Android system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, speakers, a rear-view camera, chrome fog lights, wheel covers, side body cladding with chrome inserts, and wheel arch claddings.
