The 2026 Critics Choice Awards were presented Sunday evening in Santa Monica, California, kicking off hollywoods awards season and offering a key glimpse at potential Oscar contenders. “One Battle After Another” emerged as the film frontrunner, taking home top prizes including Best Picture and Best Director for Paul Thomas anderson[[1]]. television also saw notable wins, with “The Pitt” and “The Studio” recognized as the leading drama and comedy series, respectively[[2]].

The Critics’ Choice Awards kicked off awards season on Sunday night, setting the stage for Hollywood’s biggest celebration – the Oscars.

The evening’s biggest winners, in the film categories, included “KPop Demon Hunters,” which took home awards for both Best Song and Best Animated Feature, and “One Battle After Another,” recognized as Best Picture, with Paul Thomas Anderson earning Best Director and the film also winning Best Original Screenplay.
