Independiente Medellín has announced the signing of midfielder Daniel Cataño for the current season. The club confirmed the addition of the Colombian international, bringing a proven playmaker back to the “Poderoso” faithful.
Cataño, a native of Antioquia, previously played for Independiente Medellín between 2017 and 2018, establishing himself as a key figure in the team’s midfield. He joins after a successful stint with Club Bolívar of Bolivia, where his rights were held until December 2027.
The midfielder brings a wealth of experience to Medellín, having also featured for Millonarios FC and Deportes Tolima in Colombia’s top flight. Cataño is known for his technical skill, vision, and ability to dictate play from the center of the pitch. His return is expected to bolster Medellín’s attacking options as they compete in the league.
Throughout his Colombian career, Cataño has accumulated significant silverware. He won the 2015 Torneo BetPlay Dimayor with Atlético Bucaramanga, followed by the Liga BetPlay Dimayor and Superliga titles with Deportes Tolima in 2021 and 2023, respectively.
