The bantamweight bout, part of the ONE Friday Fights 141 card, is a key opportunity for the rising Thai fighter to further establish himself on the international stage and potentially earn a contract with ONE Championship. The event will be broadcast live to 195 countries, begining at 6:30 PM local time.

Chonburi’s Detchawalit Silkmuaythai, an 18-year-old rising star in Muay Thai, has quickly made a name for himself with back-to-back first-round finishes of international opponents. He’s now aiming for a hat trick of victories when he faces Saw Min Min of Myanmar in a bantamweight (135-145 lbs) Muay Thai showdown at ONE Lumpinee 141 on Friday, February 6, 2026. The event, broadcast live from the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium (Ramindra) to 195 countries worldwide, kicks off at 6:30 PM local time.

Following in His Uncle’s Footsteps

Born and raised in Mueang District, Chonburi Province, Detchawalit grew up with one younger sister and began training in Muay Thai at the age of eight, inspired by his uncle, who was a fighter at the time. He honed his skills at the S. Klinmee gym, and after a year of training, he made his debut in a local boxing ring. Despite a first-fight knockout loss, the setback fueled his determination to train even harder.

Soon after intensifying his training, Detchawalit steadily improved and began racking up wins on the local circuit. At age 13, he got his first opportunity to fight in Bangkok, making a strong debut with a victory.

From Leaving the Sport to Becoming a Rising Star

However, after just one year fighting in the capital and with a promising career taking shape, he briefly stepped away from the sport to spend time with friends.

But at 15, Detchawalit grew restless with a directionless life and decided to return to the ring. He was given a chance to train at Silk Muay Thai, where he spent four months regaining his fitness before making his comeback. He quickly rediscovered his form, stringing together a series of impressive wins on the Bangkok fight scene.

Two Quick Finishes Lead to ONE Lumpinee Debut

After establishing himself as a standout prospect on the five-round Muay Thai circuit, Detchawalit received the opportunity to prove himself on the ONE Lumpinee 119 card in August 2023. He made an immediate impact, defeating Majid Seydali of Iran by first-round TKO. He followed that up with another dominant performance in his most recent fight at ONE Lumpinee 130, finishing Ivan Bodeant of Uruguay in the first round.

“I’ve been following ONE Lumpinee since the beginning, and I’ve always dreamed of fighting on this stage because I feel it’s a perfect fit for my style. Seeing senior fighters from my gym, like Petpattaya (Silk Muay Thai), earn two bonuses really motivated me to come here and prove myself. When I got the opportunity, I trained even harder, hoping to make a statement in my debut.”

“My recent performances have exceeded my expectations. I never thought I’d be able to finish opponents so quickly in two consecutive fights. I have to give credit to Coach Daniel for helping me adjust my movement and striking. In my last fight, I missed weight by a bit, tipping the scales at 143 pounds, but this time I’m competing at 145 pounds and I’m confident I’ll make weight and be in contention for a bonus.”

Ready to Face Myanmar’s Finest

Detchawalit’s next challenge will be Saw Min Min, a formidable opponent and former ONE Myanmar Flyweight Tournament champion who famously won two fights in a single night by first-round knockout in 2018. Saw Min Min recently returned to the ring at ONE Lumpinee 112 in June 2023, defeating Josh Trowbridge of Australia by knockout in the third round.

“Saw Min Min is an aggressive fighter with heavy hands, but his movement and timing are somewhat slow, and he tends to tire easily. You can see him fade in the later rounds. I’ve been sparring with Yodlekpet Or Atchariya, who has a similar fighting style, to prepare. He’s been helping me simulate his relentless attacks so I can work on my footwork, evasion, and counter-striking.”

“In this fight, I’ll be looking to see if he comes forward like he usually does. If he doesn’t, I’m ready to take the initiative, but I’ll fight cautiously because he hits hard. I can’t afford to make any mistakes. But if he comes at me, that plays into my strengths, as my strikes are faster. I should be able to time my counters and land effectively.”

Aiming for a Knockout and a ONE Contract

Despite Saw Min Min’s reputation for incredible toughness, Detchawalit, having secured first-round knockouts in his last two fights, is confident he can continue his hot streak and become the third victim. A decisive win would not only bolster his record but also put him in a strong position to earn a ONE contract and compete on the global stage, following in the footsteps of his idol, Jaosuayai.

“I give him over 80 percent chance of knocking him out because my strikes are both faster and more accurate. Even if he’s tough, if he keeps getting hit, he’s bound to crumble. I’m coming into this fight to finish it, hoping to grab that first bonus. How quickly it ends, we’ll have to see on fight night.”

“Another inspiration for me is Jaosuayai. He’s a fighter I admire. I love his fighting style and his courage to exchange strikes. I’ve set a goal to one day develop myself to compete at that level as well. This fight is very important. If I win impressively, I believe the opportunity to earn a ONE contract won’t be far off.”
